This week is the first week of One Book One Rosemount event which will run from October 1st through the 31st. The book that was chosen for this event was A Long Way From Chicago By: Richard Peck. The book is about a boy and his sister take a trip down to Chicago thinking that the city would be a boring place but is surprised by a few shocking events which I will not name because I wan you to find out for yourself. The book is staged during the great depression. There are plenty of events going on through out the month to deal with the book.

I am wondering if you would consider my novel, A Mile of Dreams, as a selection for this program. I am a 1968 graduate of Rosemount High and the story is set in Troy (Rosemount). It’s about a teenager who wants to go out for track his senior year, but he is the only son of a dairy farmer and freeing him to run threatens the family farm. It’s a realistic view of Rosemount in the late ’60s, the disappearance of family farms, a “Rocky” like sport story, and a great coming of age story. Excellent reviews at http://www.amazon.com. Thank you for your consideration. I can provide you with a copy of the book if you wish.
